Infleqtion Delivers 100-Qubit UK System

Context

The UK quantum community needs operational national infrastructure for larger experiments, benchmarking, error-correction research, and application development.

Overview

Infleqtion delivered the UK’s only operational 100-physical-qubit quantum computing system at the NQCC, achieving the milestone in December 2025.

Infleqtion Delivers 100-Qubit UK System

Key Problem

Researchers need access to systems beyond small laboratory prototypes to learn how neutral-atom quantum computers perform, operate, and scale in practice.

National Testbed Access

The NQCC installation lets researchers benchmark performance, explore applications, and study the operation and scaling of a large neutral-atom system.

Research Enabled

  • Algorithms - Run more complex experiments.

  • Reliability - Test error-correction approaches.

  • Applications - Explore materials, energy, and optimization.

  • Ecosystem - Build skills and supply-chain readiness.

Key Results and Findings

Sqale became the first neutral-atom platform of this scale deployed in an operational national facility. The system is available within the NQCC’s Quantum Computing Testbed Initiative.

Implications

The deployment moves UK researchers from small demonstrations toward hands-on work with larger operational systems, while supporting benchmarking, application exploration, and workforce development.
