Quantum Timing Keeps Critical Systems in Sync

Context

Data centers, financial markets, telecom networks, and defense systems depend on precise timing, yet GPS and GNSS signals can be jammed, spoofed, or disrupted.

Overview

Infleqtion integrated Tiqker with Safran White Rabbit and SecureSync systems, then validated the solution on 21.8 kilometers of live urban fiber with Quantum Corridor.

Key Problem

Critical digital infrastructure needs a timing source that is more precise, stable, and resilient than GPS alone, without requiring operators to replace existing fiber networks.

Timing Over Live Fiber

Tiqker operated on Quantum Corridor’s in situ dark fiber and maintained picosecond-level synchronization through switching events and environmental variation.

Validated Integration

  • Clock - Tiqker supplied the quantum optical timing reference.

  • Synchronization - Safran White Rabbit and SecureSync distributed time.

  • Deployment - The combined solution is available worldwide.

Key Results and Findings

Measured results showed up to 40 times improvement over conventional GPS-based timing and superior performance to cesium beam clocks across critical short-to-medium timescales. The integrated solution is available globally.

Implications

The demonstration creates a path toward commercial quantum synchronization services for financial services, data centers, telecommunications, and defense infrastructure.
